Dear Sponsors and Players of LA Open,
Great News!! LA Open Table Tennis Tournament is back!
Since its inauguration in 2011, LA Open has been one of the most prestigious and acclaimed table tennis events in the U.S., not only in terms of the prize money and the number of events, but also the caliber of players and the size of fans. Each year, we have featured many Olympian and world class players across the world.
We have continued to make LA Open an annual event for the past nine years in a row until the rampaging Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021, considering the protection of players, fans and volunteers. Since the relax of the pandemic, we have decided to resume LA Open Table Tennis Tournament. This year, the stage is set for all players displaying their uninterrupted training and skills, and for fans would still enjoy the highly competitive and entertaining events brought by LA Open.
As everyone’s health is still our primary priority, the organizing committee has decided temporarily excluded overseas players for 2022 tournament but focus on U.S and Canadian players.
The 2022 LA Open is scheduled on two days: 10-11 December 2022 (Saturday and Sunday).
The venue is Terasaki Budokan, an ultra-modern sports complex with sufficient underground parking at Little Tokyo of downtown LA, with easy accesses from all major freeways.
We are looking forward to your continued support.

On behalf of the 2022 LA OPEN Table Tennis Tournament Committee, it is my greatest pleasure to welcome all of you to this spectacular event.
In 2011, under the leadership of our founder Dr. Yungtai Hsu, we inaugurated this table tennis event. It was the first table tennis tournament of such a high magnitude in California. The huge success we experienced that year prompted us to make the tournament a permanent annual event. Now, in its ninth consecutive year, LA OPEN proudly provides with the most competitive platform and highest cash prize award in the US.
“To that end, we’re thrilled to announce that LA OPEN 2022 will move to Terasaki Budokan, an ultra-modern sports complex with sufficient underground parking at Little Tokyo of downtown LA, with easy accesses from all major freeways.”
As a reminder, LA OPEN is a non-profit organization. We are very fortunate to have a professionally dedicated Board of Directors, committee chairs and dedicated volunteers year in and year out – we can’t do this without you.
To our new and returning players, thank you for demonstrating your skill and sportsmanship in the competitions, to our fans we are excited to provide a great fun-filled weekend at the 2022 tournament and beyond.
Thank you, friends, fans, players and volunteers for supporting table tennis. Your financial contributions and volunteer efforts are always greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact us with suggestions that would benefit our events.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2022 LA OPEN Table Tennis Tournament!
